Robert Meyer


Bob has been involved in the food industry since the 1970’s when he participated in managing a processing plant in Montauk, New York. Joining SMC in the early 1980′s, he extended his knowledge base to large wholesalers and retailers. After co-managing SMC with Sabin Meyer, Bob started managing the company in the late 1990′s. At that time, he started to take over the leadership of SMC and began to focus on maintaining the profitability with sound choices of whom they represent. The principles of being profitable while maintaining the highest level of integrity became the standard of SMC’s culture. He has provided a sense of trust for both principals and customers alike.

Bob services core distributors and large operators while providing the executive decisions allowing SMC to grow and prosper. He knows where the sales are and how to make them, while helping others achieve their goals. Managing the interior and sales has helped achieve SMC’s goal of the longest standing food service marketing firm in Metro NY. Bob earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Psychology from the University of Rochester.

Peter Miras


Peter joined SMC with almost 30 years of experience in the foodservice industry. He previously held a senior position at the Kellogg Co. He brings a unique perspective to our team with strong market knowledge and customer relationships. Instead of taking a back seat, Peter takes a hands on approach to result oriented planning and execution management. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Stephen Cauley

Executive Vice President

Steve has been in the food industry for over twenty years. He started as a USDA Inspector and has an understanding of production requirements from processors. Subsequently he became the seafood buyer at Wakefern-Shoprite Supermarkets. During his tenure at SMC he as become a partner of the firm by establishing a strong sense of trust and integrity to all of the partners he works with; whether it is a customer, operator or principals. Steve is the Vice President of Sales and commandeers the retail division as well as holding influential relationships in all aspects of the foodservice trade.

Steve lives in New Jersey covering the core distributors such as Sysco. His reputation is unique in this industry and can rival anyone in the business. With his vast experience, he is able to perform well in all food categories. Sysco Metro has appointed Steve to be responsible for their growth in several categories through sales training and staff meetings. Steve holds a Masters of Food Science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

 Grace O’Neill

Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations

Grace originally spent 21 years as a Vice President with the Chase Manhattan Bank, in those years her job duties included Controller and managing various systems and reporting.  Managing the office operations and handling most of the “inside” sales, she has every attribute that embodies the word “industrious,” and provides tremendous productivity for both the principals and customers. She can access problems and opportunities with foresight and ensure a smooth operation. Her capacity to understand issues that relate to the both the manufacturer and customer is unparalleled. This fact alone allows SMC to provide a customer satisfaction that all our principals can feel proud of. Grace is Vice President of Operations and Finance. In all brokerage firms there are dynamic and key personnel, SMC is proud to have Grace and the assets she brings to the team.

 Sabin Meyer


For over 60 years Sabin Meyer has carved out a respected position in the food industry. In this time he has pioneered many of the frozen concepts of today. Having maintained some of the largest accounts in the New York metropolitan market, Sabin Meyer is still in touch with every aspect of the business. Because of him, SMC is considered one of the original and oldest foodservice firms in the United States. In selling, no words can describe his contribution towards the bottom line. Sabin is a graduate of the University of Florida.

 Michael Alleva

President, A+ Food Solutions

 Approaching 20 years in School Food Sales, Michael specializes in business relationship development with high ADP accounts to drive his client’s product through the markets distribution centers. Michael held the position of Director of K-12 Sales with SMC for 10 years before implementing A Plus Food Solutions, a division solely focused on K-12 Sales and Marketing within the SMC organization.

Michael also has extensive knowledge in CN Labeling, USDA Guidelines and various manufacturing processes to better ensure product awareness.

Katie Miras

Marketing Director

A marketing and global business graduate, Katie has an MBA from Manhattan College and has most recently worked in the cosmetics and media industries. With a strong passion for food, Katie assists in our client marketing and brand building efforts.

Randy Meyer

Director of Sales

Randy hails from Lehigh University where he received a B.S. in both marketing and finance. Randy began his career in the market research arena developing product strategies with R & D teams for food & beverage companies. Since becoming part of the SMC family, Randy is responsible for cultivating relationships between our principals and both distributors & operators in the New York City area.

Heather Gordon

Account Executive

After beginning a career in multi-media, Heather soon realized that food is her passion and attended CIA. With 20 years of experience cooking at the Waldorf, Abigail Kirsch, and the Omni Hotel at the CNN Center, she took her natural place as Executive Chef and Account Executive at SMC. Heather graduated from NYU with a degree in Graphic Arts Management and a minor in Marketing. She graduated from CIA with Honors.

 Jim Klein

Account Executive

Jim is a true veteran of the foodservice industry. From his time working in foodservice operations to the brokerage world, Jim has seen and done it all over the past 30 plus years.  As a valued member of the SMC team, Jim manages our Long Island operation and is a key account manager, expanding our partnerships with b0th multi-unit operators and distributors throughout the metro area.

 Dina Castillo

Account Executive

Dina joined SMC with over 20 years of experience in the food industry. After numerous years of managing restaurants she moved into the retail end of the food business at Whole Foods Market for over 7 years, where she specialized as a Cheese monger and successfully managed at both Whole Foods Market and then Dearborn Market. Moving to the brokerage side of the business seemed like the perfect transition to continuously influence others with food. Dina graduated from Kean University with a BS in Early Childhood Education with Honors. Dina is excited to join SMC where she can bring her experience and knowledge of food to this side of the industry. Dina is responsible for our New Jersey territory at both the operator and distributor level.

Mara Rojas


Mara joined us with an extensive customer service background, including warehouse management. As the lead CSR, she works closely with management to coordinate all the services our customers & principals require. Mara is very well respected by all the customers and manufacturers. She is on top of informing all as to what is or is not working properly. She coordinates all price notifications to the customers, as well as being the food show coordinator- a major task on to it self- the end results are always executed smoothly for our distributors, customers and manufacturers. Mara understands the meaning of service and provides it excellently.

Paulette Casucci


Paulette has joined our company with an extensive background in customer service. Since joining the SMC team, Paulette has dedicated herself to providing our customers with an unprecedented customer service experience. Passionate about food, Paulette hopes to grow in the Food Service Industry.

Wendy Ann Macko

Accountant & Controller

Wendy Ann brings 20 years of experience in the field of accounting to our company. As Controller she is responsible for financial analysis and reporting.
